SUPERGREEN®

HOME / SUPERGREEN®

Green architecture encompasses more than just energy efficiency; it represents a continually evolving and expansive concept. As Christoph Ingenhoven emphasizes, "While we have successfully delivered buildings worldwide to the highest certification standards, our aim is a holistic commitment that extends beyond these benchmarks. We strive to exceed minimal requirements, considering questions of spatial psychology: How do spaces affect people's emotions and well-being? How can architecture promote health and healing? This holistic approach defines what we mean by supergreen®-architecture."

HOLISTIC APPROACH

supergreen® involves a conscientious approach to energy and resources throughout the entire lifecycle of the building, encompassing its design, construction, and operation. This includes evaluating both primary and secondary energy aspects of materials, equipment, and building processes, as well as resource usage over the building’s lifespan. For instance, it may entail using concrete composed predominantly of recyclable materials that can be recycled at the end of its use. Supergreen® also embodies a holistic approach, integrating innovative technical excellence with aesthetic ambition. This is manifested through clear, adaptable, and rational layouts, as well as modern and elegant design principles that prioritize pleasant and restorative interiors.

URBAN GREEN

As the demand for healthy office environments increases, sustainability has become a critical consideration for companies. His projects aim to elevate user comfort by seamlessly integrating nature into workspaces. This approach blurs the boundaries between nature and work environments and enhances creative potential. Ingenhoven's architectural vision extends beyond offices; today's cities are greener than they were decades ago, presenting fresh opportunities for urban development. For example, his proposal for Berlin's "Schlossplatz" envisioned a central park as an innovative alternative to reconstructing the historic castle. In 2019, his design for Kö-Bogen II transformed Düsseldorf's urban core by pioneering the integration of green elements into an urban concept. Ultimately, supergreen® embodies a comprehensive global approach to city development, encompassing both interior and exterior environments.
