PROJECTS / BREEZÉ TOWER
One of the first environmentally friendly highrises in Japan
The client for this 177-meter tall high-rise building is the Sankei Building Corporation, a subsidiary of Japan's Fuji Broadcasting Company. Situated on National Road No. 2 in Osaka's Umeda business district, the new structure replaces a building from the 1950s.
The floor plan allows for highly flexible usage. A nine-story podium, featuring a large concert and event hall with a capacity of 960 people, restaurants, conference rooms, and a shopping mall, establishes an important new pedestrian connection in Umeda.
The Breezé Tower is Japan's first environmentally-friendly skyscraper with a double-skin glass façade, enabling natural ventilation of the interiors. Rated as "S-Class" by the Japanese CASBEE system, the Breezé Tower has achieved the highest possible rating for ecological architecture in Japan.
